Agbonlahor wants Aston Villa to sign £ 20million player after apparently rejecting contract
Aston Villa have already broken their transfer record on Emi Buendia this summer, but it doesn’t look like they will stop there.
Many names have been linked to the Midlands giants, including Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.
But Gabby Agbonlahor wants Villa to sign another England striker in the form of Southampton speed machine Danny Ings.
Air sports reported on Monday that Ings, who has a year’s contract with the Saints left, has rejected a new deal with the club.
Daily Football posted the news on his Instagram page and asked fans which team should try to sign Ings this summer.
And Agbonlahor simply posted in the comments section “Aston Villa”, although he was sarcastically taunted by former Republic of Ireland international David Meyler.
The footballer turned Youtubeur responded to Agbonlahor’s comment by saying “smaller club, right?”
It’s pretty obvious he was trying to get a reaction from the former Villa man.
Either way, if Ings leaves St Mary’s this summer, his £ 20million talents (BBC Sport) will be of great benefit to the one for whom he signs.
Injuries may have stalled Ings’ time at Liverpool, but there is no reason his scoring qualities should not play out in Europe next season.
