Aston Villa can plan life without Grealish after offer
Aston Villa could plan their life without Jack Grealish after submitting a £ 25million offer to Arsenal for Emile Smith-Rowe.
This is the view of the former Leeds United and England defender speaking exclusively to Football initiate as Villa looks to continue her busy start towards the transfer window.
Athletic’s David Ornstein reported on June 16, Arsenal rejected an offer from Villa of around £ 25million for Smith-Rowe.
It comes after the Midlands side have already bolstered their attacking ranks with the addition of Emiliano Buendia.
Football initiate learned on June 7 that Villa had spent £ 57million on the deal, including salaries.
When asked if their pursuit of Smith-Rowe could point to life without Grealish, Mills said Football initiate Connor Whitley correspondent: ” Probably yes.
“You always have to plan for that. Right now they’re bringing in players who can improve their squad and their first XI and there’s nothing wrong with doing that.
“But they will have in mind that if suddenly something happens and there is a huge offer for Jack Grealish and he wants to leave, then they have enough players to cover those positions.
“Obviously they won’t be as good as Jack, not now. But with a few tweaks here and there, the point will be that you don’t miss out.
Villa also added Ashley Young this week as he returns to the club 10 years after leaving for Manchester United.
Football initiate revealed on June 16, Villa Chiefs are also determined to add Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse to Dean Smith’s squad.
In other news, Aston Villa has been backed to sign a Tottenham player after the £ 30million prize was revealed.
