Aston Villa defender has transfer ‘suitors’ wanting to exploit contract situation

Watford is reportedly among the list of suitors showing an interest in Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause.
The defender’s contract is ongoing this summer and there is no indication whether he will put pen to paper for a new deal at Villa Park.
And the Mirror says the situation could spark interest in the January window with the Hornets in a desperate battle to retain their Premier League status after league promotion.
Villa is believed to have the option of extending Hause’s current deal for another year, but he will leave the club if that is not agreed, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this season.
Hause has shown a clear progression this season under the leadership first of Dean Smith, and now Steven Gerrard, who will be sure to keep a close watch on the defender to assess whether or not he will feature in his plans going forward.
His performance against Manchester United this season has been colossal and the development he shows is certainly worthy of a new contract.
Hause has proven to be a reliable figure in Villa’s squad, and although on the outskirts of a starting spot in Gerrard’s squad, he’s a useful player to call when Tyrone Mings or Ezri Konsa do is not available.
