Aston Villa Mings ace lacks concentration in latest transfer

Alan Hutton has suggested a lack of focus has been Tyrone Mings’ downfall at Aston Villa this season.
The former Villa star, speaking exclusively to Football Insiderinsisted his 29-year-old ex-teammate would be disappointed with his form this season.
As revealed by Football Insider last week (April 18), Villa are in the hunt for a new left centre-back this summer.
A club source has told this site that Steven Gerrard has prioritized signing an upgrade over Mings in a total squad overhaul.
Hutton admitted the centre-back hasn’t been at his best this season.
He suggested that lapses in concentration let Mings down.
When asked if he thought Mings would be disappointed with his form, Hutton replied Football Insiders Russell Edge: “I think he will be.
“He’s the kind of guy who throws his arms up. He knows if he has a bad game or not. That’s how it should be, especially when you’re the captain.
“You have to be able to take that kind of flak on the chin and keep going. Personally, I don’t think he’s been at his best this season, I think he can do better.
“I think it comes down to a matter of focus with him. He has all the assets to be one of the best central defenders.
“He’s physical, he’s strong, he’s fast, he’s good with the ball. It’s about staying 100% focused for 95 minutes or whatever.
“You can’t switch off for a while in the Premier League or you will be punished. It happened.
Mings has featured 31 times in all competitions for Villa this season.
He has two years left on his contract.
