Aston Villa receive Keinan Davis transfer message after Nottingham Forest promotion

Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis has been promoted to the Premier League with loan club Nottingham Forest.
His season seemed to be over in April when he suffered a hamstring injury, but he recovered in time to compete in the play-offs. Davis started the play-off final against Huddersfield Town at Wembley as Levi Colwill scored an own goal to send Forest into the Premier League.
Davis was substituted in the 66th minute to be replaced by Sam Surridge. Reacting to Davis’s recovery and replacement, Sky Sports commentator Don Goodman said: “What a bonus it is. Now they have Sam Surridge’s clever game. Forest aren’t blocked, but Surridge will offer that ball when they get it.

Forest have been able to hang on and their promotion to the top flight will inevitably spark speculation as to whether Davis’ long-term future lies at the City Ground. Davis is under contract at Villa Park for another two years, but Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings are ahead of the 24-year-old in Steven Gerrard’s pecking order.
Villa have already completed three high-profile transfers for next season and Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is among those linked with the club. Talented youngster Cameron Archer is also set to return from an equally successful loan spell in the Championship with Preston.
After watching Davis’ performance in the play-off final, some Villans believe the time has come to cash in on the former Biggleswade Town man. One fan said: “Keinan Davis is 100% a Championship striker. I love the lad but that’s his level.”
Another Villa fan said: “Unfortunately Keinan with another performance which shows he is not at the level we need – a great worker but not Prem for me.” A third added: “If Forest go up hopefully they offer a decent £££ for Davis, he’s not the answer for us going forward!”
