Aston Villa set to reject two £ 60million offers after Athletic reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Aston Villa will reject offers of £ 60million for Tyrone Mings and John McGinn.
Addressed exclusively to Football initiate, Villa’s record Premier League scorer insisted the club were in a strong position to keep their grip on the pair.
Mings and McGinn have been notable players for the Midlands squad as they finished 11th in the Premier League last season.
the Athletic reported on June 22 McGinn caught the attention of Jurgen Klopp but Liverpool were put off by Villa’s £ 50million valuation.
The Reds are looking for a new midfielder after Georginio Wijnaldum left the club to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
“For Aston Villa, they know they don’t need the money, so they can just rate everyone,” Agbonlahor said Football initiate correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Say if somebody wants Mings they can say ‘give us £ 60million’, if anybody wants McGinn it’s going to be £ 60million. If it’s Grealish they’ll want £ 100million , 120 million pounds sterling.
“Bid at your own risk. They can rate clubs. Even if they got those numbers, they still wouldn’t sell McGinn or Mings for £ 60million.
“The clubs are just wasting their time if they bid for one of these players because they are not going to sell them.”
McGinn, 26, has played 111 times in all competitions for Villa and only missed one Premier League game last season.
Mings, 28, has appeared in 91 games in all competitions for the club and missed two league games last season.
Both players have been called up to the national teams, Scotland and England, respectively, for this summer’s European Championship.
In other news, there has been a big update on Aston Villa’s offer to lure James Ward-Prowse from Southampton.
