Aston Villa vs Wolves: £ 19.8million star ‘more uncertain than Raul Jimenez’ for Midlands derby
Journalist Luke Hatfield has revealed that Trincao’s participation in Wolves’ game against Aston Villa is in serious doubt after recently testing positive for COVID-19.
The 21-year-old has started all seven of his side’s Premier League games except one but is at serious risk of missing out entirely this weekend.
What’s the latest news from Trincao?
While on international duty with Portugal last week, Trincao returned a positive test and was immediately placed in self-isolation.
The result came back on Wednesday, 10 days before Wolves’ trip to Villa Park, which means it is possible to see if the winger will be available for this game.

What did Hatfield say about Trincao?
As the game approaches, Hatfield called Trincao Bruno Lage’s biggest doubt to play against Villa.
He believes the forward is even less likely to play than Raul Jimenez, who is set to play for Mexico on Thursday, just over 48 hours before Wolves return.
Taking stock of Trincao’s situation, Hatfield told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Trincao is more uncertain than Jimenez or anyone else because you just don’t know how COVID is affecting different players, right? Some players are fine with that, but it hits some people for six, doesn’t it? “

What would the loss of Trincao be for the Wolves?
Ahead of a Midlands derby, Lage would like his best team to be on the pitch, and that would include Trincao based on the start of this season.
The 6-1 striker, who Transfermarkt values at £ 19.8million, may not yet have reached the goal in terms of goals and assists for Wolves in the Premier League, but he has when even shown enough to prove that he will be missed if he isn’t able to play on Saturday afternoon.
According to WhoScored, he has made 19 successful dribbles and six key passes in the top flight since being on loan from Barcelona. Those numbers put him in the top five in both categories compared to his teammates.
Wolves have struggled to score goals in the first few weeks of the campaign, having scored just five times so far, and Trincao has appeared to be one of their only players who can unlock a defense.
Going into that game against Villa without him can see them lacking in creativity, meaning Wolves could face it as they try to extend their league winning streak to three games.
