Critical Infractions Discovered in Ottawa County Restaurant Inspections

The Sanitation Division of the Ottawa County Health Department reported the following critical violations during food inspections between October 27 and November 8:

Metro, 262 W. Water St., Oak Harbor. Violation: A container used for disinfectant without an appropriate label.

Senior Center of Genoa, 514 Main St., Genoa. Violation: The dishwasher disinfectant solution was less than 10 parts per million.

IGA Community Markets, 279 W. Water St., Oak Harbor. Violations: Employee of the delicatessen service who did not have the appropriate knowledge in food safety; disinfectant stored without the appropriate label.

Jolly Rogers Seafood House, 1715 E. Perry St., Port Clinton. Violations: Blocked hand washing sink (corrected); menu missing asterisk required to indicate appropriate food safety.

Espresso, 128 W. Second St., Port Clinton. Violation: Spray bottles are stored next to an ice cream scoop (fixed).

Metro, 74 North Jefferson, Port Clinton. Violation: The ice maker has residue.

Mcdonalds TLS OH, INC., 122 East Water St., Oak Harbor. Violation: Build-up of ice maker residue.

Auberge du Portage, 355 Rice Street, Elmore. Violations: raw chicken stored next to ready-to-eat foods (corrected); build-up of ice maker residue; taco meat stored for more than seven days (corrected); three-compartment sink not properly configured (fixed); containing chemicals without an appropriate label.

Witches potion, 12629 W. Salem Carroll Road, Oak Harbor. Violations: no employee health policy posted (corrected); chemicals stored on top of single-use items (corrected).

Porky’s Pizza Trof, 4811 N. Ohio 2, Oak Harbor. Violations: Storage shelf extremely close to hand washing sink making access difficult (fixed); residue in the ice maker; cup used to collect food (corrected); rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide stored next to single-use items (corrected).

Hy-Miler n ° 2241, 1770 W. Fremont Road, Port Clinton. Violation: Bottles stored in the hand washing sink; secondary chemical bottle without label.

Kozy Korner, LLC, 501 Oak Street, Oak Harbor. Violations: the menu did not include consumer identification of foods of animal origin as required; chemical containers without an appropriate label.

Pizza Hut, n ° 167, 204 Benton Street, Oak Harbor. Violation: The manager could not locate the employee’s health policy (fixed).

School of the Immaculate Conception, 109 W. Fourth St., Port Clinton. Violation: Spray bottle with cleaner stored next to single-use items (corrected).
