Here are your headlines from the Aston Villa morning on Monday, July 19, 2021.

Gunners “admire” Grealish

Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a move for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

Grealish has become a £ 100million target for Premier League champions Manchester City in this summer’s transfer window.

Villa, however, is hoping he promises his future at his childhood club by signing a new contract.

Grealish’s stock rose further after helping England reach the Euro 2020 final.

Manchester United and Tottenham have been credited with an interest in the attacking midfielder in the past.

Man City are now set to take a big hit for Grealish and Spurs forward Harry Kane.

According to Athleticism, Arsenal “are among those who admire (Grealish)”.

Oh, brother …

Aston Villa reportedly had an approach for Northampton Town youngster Caleb Chukwuemeka, pushed back.

Chukwuemeka is the older brother of Carney Chukwuemeka, the Villa midfielder who made his first-team debut last season.

Caleb was linked with a move to Villa in September last year.

Villa’s Premier League rivals Norwich City have also been credited with an interest in the 19-year-old.

According to Daily mail, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle Unite have also spotted the player while Rangers are another linked club.

It is reported that Chukwuemeka senior, who is out of contract at Northampton at the end of January, has been the subject of an approach from Villa.

Davis “ready to go”

Championship clubs are said to be lining up to take on Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis.

The 23-year-old is said to be wanted by around nine second-tier teams this summer as manager Dean Smith looks to boost his strike force with a new arrival.

According to Athleticism, Davis appears ‘close to leaving’ Villa Park on loan, having made just three starts in all competitions for Villa last season.

Ollie Watkins is Smith’s first choice after his successful transfer from Brentford last year saw him score 17 goals in all competitions, including 14 in the Premier League.

Davis, on the other hand, made 18 total appearances for Villa last season and managed just two goals, while helping two others in all competitions.

Tuanzebe impresses

Axel Tuanzebe has caught Manchester United’s attention amid talks about a possible return to Aston Villa.

Tuanzebe is a popular figure among Villa fans after two previous loans with the club.

United could send him on loan again this season and Villa has been mentioned as a possible destination, along with Newcastle.

The defender made 19 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side last season, but only four Premier League starts, including three in the last month of the campaign.

Tuanzebe, who is out of contract next year with United having the option of an additional season, will be 24 in November.

He was in pre-season action for United on Sunday as they beat Derby County 2-1 in a friendly at Pride Park Stadium.
