Move over the Happy Meals. Pizza Hut merchandising. This is where it is! I Retro-Specs from LRM
If you are an 80s / 90s kid you know Mcdonalds still dominates the food and toy combo. I mean, they have their own Transformers / Modifiers! Other big chains such as Burger King have a few hits (The ALF and TMNT lines are my favorite. Even Wendy does well sometimes. However, there is one that really gives Mcdonalds some competition in the 80s / 90s. Pizza Hut merchandise. is the real deal!
Fasteners Merch Pizza Hut
I was watching a Back to the future marathon the other day. When you see a movie for the thousandth time, you start to catch the details. I checked their “futuristic” clothes for Part II and I remembered I had a pair of these cute sunglasses! Where did I get them? A Pizza Hut buckle up! Shortly thereafter, there was a super Buzzfeed article about it.
I think what makes the merchandise so good is because as a kid it seemed to come out of nowhere. The other channels you expect. However, I would join Pizza Hut a Friday before TGIF to get my Book-It! personal stove and a Crystal Pepsi and BOOM! Pizza Hut has some type of link out of the blue. Distance makes the heart more loving, doesn’t it? Let’s take a look at some of the best Pizza Hut merchandise. it really gives competition to other channels!
Pizza Hut And Puppets
In the ’80s and’ 90s for some reason Pizza HutHand puppets are a must. I definitely have Ducky and Littlefoot from the show. In typical 80s / 90s fashion, the material smells of death and doesn’t even move much. The kind of arm moves and the neck. But you know what? Many children in my area had them. I even remember that some took them to school. I really feel like when he’s trained for children’s meals, Pizza HutRandom links (for me as a kid) forced us to “have” everything they sell!
There is also Casper series of hand puppets as well as a series for The beauty and the Beast. Although I don’t have either of the two series, hand puppets were all in fashion.
Who remembers Eureka Castle? This show is awesome! (Could be a future Retro-Specs part). It is a bit like Sesame Street for Nickelodeon. We all love Henson style puppets, so it makes sense that Pizza Hut has a line of hand puppets as a link! I’m pretty sure I got Batly (only 99 cents!).
TMNT Cassette “Coming out of their shell”!
If it’s the 80s / 90s and you don’t join the TMNT craze then you will be left in the dust. Pizza Hut of course jump on board. Before Vanilla Ice and “Ninja Rap” there was the “Coming Out of Their Shells” tour. I even went there. That’s right. My very first concert. Now, coming in for your personal casserole, how on earth could you pass up the official tape, movie poster AND tour book. Pizza Hut goes beyond the usual children’s meal toys. If you’ve never seen the tour, take a look.
Solar shades Back to the future II!
Only $ 1.99! Too good to pass up, right? I remember wanting the coveted Solar Shades to look so cool. I ended up getting a pair, which I think are the best. The one below in the middle row made me feel like I could have (and should have) been in the movie!
Pizza Hut Street Basketballs
First Pizza Hut sold the mini basketball balls that are still as cool as hell, but then came the release of a full size basketball. ONLY $ 4.99 with the purchase of a pizza. Everyone in my area had it. And that line, “Hey idiots, do you want a game?” would be used continuously following the advertisement. With streetball, while the ’90s are great, you get what you pay for. It is an absolute must-have. However, if you had one, you know that it quickly gets out of balance, runs out of air, and the grip wears off. Every time you played, you came away with your hands completely black because of the color rubbing off. BUT, that never stopped us from relaunching streetball for more adventures. I’m pretty sure he’s still found deflated in my parents’ garage as a Pizza Hut relic.
I may be biased, but the Pizza Hut 80s / 90s merchandise will always be the best. However, that does not prevent them from continuing the trend. The Star Wars: The Phantom Menace hats and ties are another feather in Pizza Hutthe cap. I definitely have the Yoda cut. You might even get a great behind-the-scenes CD-ROM that probably required DOS mode on a computer. Pizza Hut keep up with the times.
In 2016, they have TMNT plush dolls that fans could buy. Now they still ride hard with the TMNT trendy by adding Mutagen Ranch pizza as late as last March! I’ve never tried, have I?

While Pizza Hut didn’t invent derivative products and weren’t as consistent as other fast food chains, their merchandise is different. This is what sets them apart and is a must-have for all pizza fans and lovers. What’s your favorite Pizza Hut merchandise? Do you have any that are mentioned? Are there others that you like more? Leave your thoughts in the usual place, and thanks for reading!
