Potential problem for Arsenal in quest to sign ‘incredible’ Aston Villa ace

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal face competition from Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma for Aston Villa central midfielder Douglas Luiz, according to Il Romanista.
Il Romanista has reported that Roma head coach Mourinho is keen on signing a midfielder in the summer transfer window, and Italian club manager Tiago Pinto has Villa Luiz star on his target.
Roma and Villa have already been in contact, and the Serie A club could take advantage of their good relationship with their agent to land the 23-year-old Brazil international central midfielder.

The report added that Arsenal are also interested in Luiz.
Earlier this month, well-known and respected journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on his podcast that Arsenal “have an interest” in the Brazilian, who was described as “incredible” by Villa manager Dean Smith in The Birmingham Mail in June 2020.
Arsenal or AS Roma for Douglas Luiz?
In our opinion, Arsenal might be able to sign Luiz ahead of Roma in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners could finish in the top four of the Premier League, and that could be very attractive for Luiz.
Now, of course, we know Roma are a big club, but the Premier League is the richest and most popular domestic league in the world.
Luiz might be tempted to continue playing in England, especially if he manages to sign for a club as big and global as Arsenal.
