Roberto Firmino says Aston Villa have an ‘incredible’ player
Speaking on Liverpool’s YouTube channel, Roberto Firmino has picked his dream five-man squad.
As you can imagine, Firmino’s dream squad was largely made up of current Liverpool players as Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho and Mo Salah all earned places alongside him.
However, there was also an Aston Villa player in the mix as Firmino picked Philippe Coutinho as his attacking midfield option right behind Salah.
Of course, Firmino played alongside Coutinho for years at Liverpool, and although it’s been a while since they were teammates, the striker clearly still has a lot of admiration for his compatriot.
What was said?
Firmino had nothing but good things to say about Coutinho.
“The fourth is Philippe Coutinho, we had a great bond when we played together. It was a privilege to play alongside him, he’s an incredible player and I admire him a lot,” Firmino said.
Coutinho may have left Liverpool before he truly became one of Europe’s elite sides, but let’s not forget how good these two were together.
As Firmino says, they had a brilliant bond during their time together at Anfield, and maybe that’s something Brazil boss Tite should consider ahead of the World Cup.
It may be a long time, but perhaps it’s worth noting that Firmino’s contract at Liverpool ends next summer, and with Steven Gerrard at the helm and Coutinho in the squad, perhaps Villa may want to. take a look at the attacker if he is available on a Bosman.
Almost every neutral would love to see Coutinho and Firmino reunited at some point, and if it’s in the Premier League, that would be even better.
