Steven Gerrard gave Aston Villa a major boost ahead of game opener

Gabby Agbonlahor believes that Matty Cash’s recent international appearances for Poland will prove to be a major “plus” for Aston Villa.
Villa will host Brighton at Villa Park this weekend, with Steven Gerrard in charge of his first game since being appointed manager.
Cash, who is eligible to represent Poland internationally through his mother, made his debut as a substitute in a 4-1 win over Andorra before being in the starting squad against La Hungary.
He played alongside Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich and the pair celebrated the striker’s second goal against Andorra.
Former Villa Agbonlahor forward has claimed that Cash playing alongside world elite players will only benefit Gerrard’s Villa.
“The money is just going to buzz,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider. “His confidence must be at its highest after playing for Lewandowski and his country.
“It’s good news for Aston Villa, for him to have the experience of playing international football.
“It’s definitely a plus for Aston Villa.”
