Tim Sherwood says Aston Villa have an ‘exceptional’ player who made the £13m Leeds player ‘terrible’

Tim Sherwood told PLP’s coverage of Leeds United’s 3-0 loss to Aston Villa that Matty Cash was ‘outstanding’ on Thursday night – and made Leeds man Junior Firpo ‘terrible’ on a bad night for Leeds at home.
Leeds came into the game after five successive Premier League defeats – but as it was Jesse Marsch’s first game as Leeds manager at Elland Road, there was hope the American would pick up his first points.
Philippe Coutinho put Villa ahead in the first half, his shot deflecting past Illan Meslier. A second came from Cash, who instantly controlled a delightful pass before cutting inside and beating an effort under Meslier.
Calum Chambers scored the goal pick, curling an effort into the top corner after some neat work from Tyrone Mings. Sherwood praised Cash, saying Steven Gerrard would be delighted after he made Firpo “terrible”.

“He was exceptional. Show his cool there, but Firpo was terrible. Cut inside, strike, he found important goals. Gerrard will be delighted with him, he gives him real energy, pushed from that side.
Sherwood on Firpo, Cash: Villa and Leeds stars are completely at odds
It was the story of two full-backs on Thursday night. Cash, who changed nationality to Poland, is currently in career form. He has now contributed six goals in his 27 Premier League appearances.
Firpo, meanwhile, has failed to prove why Leeds spent £13million (GOAL) to sign him this summer from Barcelona. He picked up an injury, which Marsch says could be his MCL, against Villa. He might be out for a while.
