Top-ranked pizza chains in each state, based on GPS data; Little Caesars ranks #1 in Massachusetts

Massachusetts’ favorite pizza chain is Little Caesars, according to a ranking of favorite pizza chains by TOP Agency, a leading market research firm that tracks consumer preferences. And the Bay State’s preference for the Detroit-based chain is apparently not the only one.
The company found that in 16 states, Little Caesars is the most popular vendor, including Texas, Tennessee, Louisiana, Nevada, Colorado, Maryland, Wisconsin and Maine, another state from New England to Massachusetts.
Domino’s is second, Marco’s Pizza third, Papa John’s fourth and Papa Murphy’s fifth, TOP Agency said to round out Massachusetts’ top five pizza chains.
For the other New England states, Rhode Island’s favorite chain was Domino’s, Connecticut was Papa John’s, and New Hampshire and Vermont was Pizza Hut according to the TOP agency. Nearby New York City also had Pizza Hut as its favorite chain.
TOP also said there are 30 states that exceed New York’s pizza eating requirements, eating the food more frequently, like Californians eating it twice as often.
He added that the country’s love of pizza “appears to have increased in 2022, with consumer visits to 12 of the largest pizza chains up 32% since last year.”
“[T]he returning customers in large numbers across all pizza chains is a welcome sign for the industry as a whole,” TOP Agency said.
For its methodology, TOP Data analyzed GPS data of millions of Americans from 12 of the largest pizza chains in 48 states in the United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, to determine the five major chains in each state and survey 1,000 Americans to learn more about their pizza eating preferences.
TOP Agency also said 54% of people agreed that pineapple shouldn’t be on pizza.
