WWE Day 1: Ridge Holland shares bloody photo of broken nose
Ridge Holland shared a photo of his nurse broken after sustaining an injury on WWE Day 1.
The former Rugby League star has traded ground for the ring in recent years and has been given a big opportunity in the kickoff ahead of the company’s New Year’s event.
Unfortunately for Holland, it wasn’t quite the night he would have hoped for as his evening ended early with an injury to Ricochet’s hand – or leg -.
Ridge teamed up with Sheamus for the tag team match against Cesaro and Ricochet, and the latter’s standing 450 splash went wrong when he landed on the bridge of the Yorkshire-born star’s nose.
He was taken to the rear as comments revealed the extent of the injury, and the Celtic warrior fought on his own before securing a big victory.
Holland shared an update on social media later that night, posting a selfie showing the broken nose with bloody tissue in the nostril.
Always in a good mood, he captioned the cliché: “Bloody Lovely!”
Many fans responded with their wishes, and Sheamus himself has shown that a broken nose doesn’t mean taking too much time off.
“You’re just following in the footsteps of your idols,” one fan joked.
Another added: “Rest king, you have a rumble to win later this month.”
And NXT commentator Wade Barrett teased, “Welcome to the club, mate.”
While the incident was the main talking point on the ringside of the Kickoff show, the main card began with a successful tag team fight between The Usos and The New Day, with the former duo retaining the SmackDown titles. .
Drew McIntyre pinned Madcap Moss in a predictable but entertaining game, but the Scottish Warrior was later attacked backstage by his opponent and Happy Corbin in a brutal assault.
Meanwhile, the Raw Tag Tag Team Championships were on the line as RK-Bro – along with Migos – beat The Street Profits, with the latter duo showing signs of leaving their good guy character behind.
